In Aug.4th, invited by HHPDI, Mr. Chen Feiyong, President of EAST STAR TECHNOLOGY LTD and General Manager of Wuhan Changjian Chuanwei Environment Scientific and Technology Ltd, give lecture in HHPDI. Main contents of the lecture involve urban water environment and aquatic ecology regulation. Engineers from departments of Planning, Hydraulic Structure, Construction, and Architecture participated in this lecture.
HHPDI Accomplishing Introducing and Training of Transition Process Simulation Software Developed by Hohai University
In this month, HHPDI introduced ¡°Hydropower Station Hydraulic-Mechanical Transition Process Simulation Software¡± developed by Prof. Shen Zhuyi from Hydraulic Unit Microcomputer Controlling Technology Laboratory in Hohai University. This software mainly adopts for transition process simulation in hydropower station and water pump station. It has computation and analysis functions, and is adopted for hydropower stations installed with Francis units, Kaplan turbine units, and reversible machinery units, as well as, water pump station with long water diversion pipes.
With the introducing of this software, the Electromechanical Department organized training course for using this software. Through the training, the engineers basically understand usage, steps and considerations of the software, and can accomplish calculation of transition process of above three hydropower station units. It will greatly promote their design and technical level.
Signing of Foreign Contact in Iran Rafsanjan Water Supply Project
In July 16th, under the witness of Mr. He Guoqiang, China's Politburo Standing Committee Member and secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, and Vice President of Iran Mr. Mohammadi-Zadeh, the Consortium made up of CNTIC, Sinohydro Engineering Bureau 3rd Co. Ltd, and HHPDI signed contract with Rafsanjan Development Organization concerning to Rafsanjan Water Supply Project in Teheran. The Project is now entering into financing stage.
Institute Leaders Visited Xinjiang Xinhua Hydropower Investment Co. Ltd.
In July 18th, Mr. Zhang Zhenquan, Director General of the Institute, directors from General Contacting Company and Institute¡¯s Xinjiang Branch visited Xinhua Hydropower Investment Co. Ltd. General Manager Mr. Yin Baowei and other directors of relevant department of the Company participated in the meeting.
In the meeting, Mr. Zhang introduced basic information, operation principle, technical management idea, technical advantages and enterprise culture of the Institute. Based on previous good cooperation with Hunan Xinhua Company, Mr. Zhang expressed his willingness in continuous cooperation with Xinjiang Xinhua Company.
Mr. Yin Baowei warmly welcomed visit of the Institute and introduced development history of his Company, and expressed his willingness in communication and liaison with the Institute, and promised to introduce the Institute in future survey and design bidding. He hopes that the Institute could participate in survey and design bidding and an open, fair and just approach will be granted to the Institute.

Institute Leaders Visited Xinjiang Qinghua Group
In July 14th, Mr. Zhang Zhenquan, Director General of the Institute, and directors from Marketing Department and General Contacting Company visited Xinjiang Qinghua Group. Deputy General Manager Mr. Wang Jinlin, and Director of Planning and Development Department Mr. Liu Qing participated in the meeting. In the meeting, Mr. Zhang introduced backgrounds and leading technologies of the Institute. The two parties made sufficient communication and exchanges in engineering general contracting, authorized project construction, and enterprise cultures. The Group made a promise that priority of cooperation under even conditions will be considered for the Institute in water supply project.

Play a Leading Role in Water Resources Planning and Promote Forward Development of Water Resources in Hunan: The Planning Department held a Conference to Study and Implementation Spirits from Water Resources Working Conference of Central Government
Following the enactment of No.1 Central Government Document, the Central Government held a working conference for water resources development, which inspired directors and staffs of the Institute. In the morning of July 13th, the Planning Department of the Institute made a meeting in studying and implementation spirits from water resources working conference of Central Government, and conveyed key lectures contents made by General Secretary Hu Jintao, Premier Wen Jiabao, and Vice Premier Hui Liangyu in the Conference, and called for implementation of key strategic arrangement from the Water Resources Working Conference of Central Government. Mr. Wang Yuesheng, Party Secretary of the Institute, participated in this meeting and made speech. Mr. Dong Bisheng, director of the Planning Department, chaired the meeting. Directors from the Institute Administration Office, Party Discipline Office, and relevant principals from the Planning Department also participated in this meeting.
Mr. Wang Yuesheng first conveyed main spirits of the Central Government conference, as well as, important directions from Ministry of Water Resources and Department of Hunan Water Resources. Mr. Wang indicated that the Institute is the vanguard in water resources undertakings in Hunan Province, and the Planning Department is the dagger squad of this vanguard. All the staffs in the Institute, especially staffs of the Planning Department, should grasp significant meaning of this Conference, accurately understand major spirits of the Conference, implement key points of the Conference, and practice relevant responsibilities.
Subsequently, the participants made discussion on main spirits of this Central Government Conference. Mr. Dong Bisheng made an analysis on pressure and difficulties now confronted to the Department, and called quick action of the whole Department, as to make sufficient preparations for the coming peaks in water resources planning work.
Accelerating Marketing Process in Papua New Guinea Hydropower Market
In July 13th, Mr. Fang Puwang, vice director general of the Institute, and Mr. Yang Jianping, director of International Market Department, visited Port Moresby, capital of Papua New Guinea, and made an investigation on hydropower market in PNG and Bougainville.
Mr. Fang made a special visited to PPL and a hearted view exchanges was made with PPL CEO Mr. Tony and Consultant Company of Water Resources under PPL. The two parties reviewed cooperation on YONKI Hydropower Station and other water resources projects, and expressed strategic cooperation intends in the future. Mr. Tony expressed his intention to visit the Institute in a proper chance. The two sides exchanged presents after the meeting.
In the evening, Mr. Fang and his team visited Chinese Embassy in PNG, and shared the dinner with Ambassador Mr. Qiu Bohua, PPL representatives, Mr. Fang Zhengxian from Beijing Times Orient Company, local Chinese group respentatives, and site management of YONKI Project. Ambassador Mr. Qiu said there are abundant water resources in PNG, however, due to deficiency in technology and human resources, hydropower industry in PNG lagged in development, which results in very shortage in electrical power. Mr. Qiu hopes that HHPDI could enter into hydropower market in PNG and contribute in its hydropower industry, and wishes that HHPDI could take a leading role in Chinese enterprises.

Geological Survey Staff Awarded ??Worker??s Pioneer Title??
With the coming of International Labor??s Day, a commendation congress was held by Hunan Provincial Committee and Hunan Provincial Government, some progressive individual and collectives received commendation and rewards for their achieving at the National Labor??s Award, ??Worker??s Pioneer Title?? , and Provincial ??11th Five Year Action?? He said the geological survey and drilling for water conservancy project is a very tough work, and staff had to experience outdoor work for a long time, he encouraged them to promote arduous spirit and contribute more for Hunan water conservancy cause.
The Survey and Drilling Team of HHPDI have undertaken many works for hydraulic project inside and outside of province during the past years, as well as hydrological, geological survey, slope anchoring, foundation anti-seepage & consolidation, design and construction of grouting for communication, railway, and civil work, possessing abundant experiences. Report of Normal Water Level Selection and General Construction Layout during Feasibility Study Stage for Hanyang Navigation and power Generation project Got Review and Approval
The review on Report of Normal Water level Selection and General Construction Layout during Feasibility Study Stage for Sichuan Minjiang Hanyang Navigation and Power Generation Project (hereinafter called Report) is made in Chengdu City on April 13. 2011. The Chief engineer Zhenghong, deputy-chief engineer Wu Shengping and Zenggengcai participated this review meeting. More than 40 peoples have attended the meeting, including Sichuan Development & Reform Committee, Provincial Energy Bureau, Provincial Poverty Alleviation and Resettlement Bureau, Meishan Development & Reform Committee, Qingshen County government, County Development & Reform committee, County Resettlement Bureau, Hydropower management branch company of China Gezhouba Group (Employer), directors of design institute, Experts and representatives.
The experts and representatives listened report from HHPDI in reference of the design document, and carried out further discussion. The experts considered that this Report meet the Hydropower planning compile requirement No. [2007] 0036. The recommended normal water level as 382.5m is principally proper; the general construction layout planning is basically feasible. The Report can be used as basis for land requisition and resettlement of this stage after its improvement.

Close Meeting for Flood Control, Water Resource and Water Environment Research for Dongting Lake Sikou River System Held
Close Meeting for Flood Control, Water Resource and Water Environment Research for Dongting Lake Sikou River System was held in Ningxiang from Feb. 28th to March 2th. Gan Minghui, the general engineer hosted the approval working with the participation of relevant branches of Water Resources Ministry, HHPDI, Dongting Lake Sustainable Development Federation, as well as the representatives from Qinghua University and Nanjing Hydropower Research Institute. The compiling condition and first draft of the report were studied and discussed on the meeting. The further revising and approving content and requirements were proposed.
The project was planned to be accepted by the provincial water resources department on the end of March and was to apply acceptance by the water resources ministry in first ten days of April.

HHPDI Participated Xiang Women Red Song
The Year 2011 is not only the 101th ??March 8?? International Women's Day, but also the 90th anniversary year of Chinese Communist Party. Vice president Xu Gui visited the construction site of Xiajiang Hydropower project in Jiangxi Province in March 1st, 2011, accompanied by deputy general manager Huang Shaohua of the Supervision Company. Afternoon,January 5, President Zhang Zhenquan used the intervals of attending Appraisal Meeting and Prophase Construction Working Meeting of Qingshen Navigation and Hydropower Complex to lead a team of Qingshen Project visited the famous Three Gorges Project.
Accompanied by staff of Gezhouba Corporation and Three Gorges Corporation, the team visited left bank power plant, central control room, Three Gorges dam, five-step ship lock, Commemorative Park and so on. Recently, HHPDI succeed in re-application for class-A qualification of Surveying & Mapping approved by State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping, and obtained Class-B qualification of photogrammetry and remote sensing certificate approved by Department of Land and Resources of Hunan Province, in addition obtained Class-B qualification certificate of estate mapping.
2010'Staff Badminton Match Held Successfully
Men's final was held on Dec. 27 afternoon, and it??s over means 2010' staff badminton match is completely and successfully end. Mr. Xiao Gujin, union chairman hosted a closing ceremony. Wang Yuesheng, secretary of the party committee in HHPDI and Zhang Zhenquan, a director of HHPDI attended the ceremony and presented prize for the winners and wish they keep carry forward sporting spirits.
This is the first time to use newly-built Kangyu Gym for match. According to international rules, match is divided into team and single. Men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles and women's doubles played simultaneously on four grounds. The game was exciting and the audience broke into applause.

Mr. Zhang Zhenquan, the president of HHPDI attended the congress, and received certificate of commendation and medal.
The national high quality project award is an integral part of the China high quality product award (short for National Quality Award); it is the highest honor in terms of construction quality. There 1410 high quality projects have been certificated since 1981, including 50 gold medal and 1360 silver medals. Xiangjiang Dayuandu Navigation and Power Generation Complex mainly designed by HHPDI also won the silver medal in 2003.
Standardized Arrangement Work on Archives in HHPDI's Administrative Affairs Department has been Accomplished Recently
'We neednt search the archives and files for a long time in HHPDI's Administrative Affairs Department later. 'With the guidance and in the help of the concerned professionals of the Archives Bureau and Archives Association in our province, after 4 months diligence, HHPDI??s Administrative Affairs Department accomplished the standardized re-arrangement and the filing of the archives for the recent 20 years from 1991. What's more, they input the computer all the files catalogue for laying the solid basis for the next computerization of the archives.
The arrangement of the archives got the attention and the support of the leaders of the institute as well as many times of the on-site guidance of the experts from the Archives Association of our province. This management kept the continuity of the archives, reflected the standardized management and reinforced the utilization function achievement of the digitizing retrieval. At the same time, the favorable basis for the later informationized archives management has been built.
It is recalled by the management personnel, this management of archives has been developed in accordance with the regulation of the No. Eight Order in the National Archives Bureau. With the difficulties of great amount of jobs and few personnel, the standardized arrangement work has been accomplished after 4 months of collection, classification of the archives, defining of the retention period, the catalogue compiling and customization of the piece number.'

Recently,
HHPDI succeed in renewal its Grade A
Certificate of Scheme Planning for Soil and
Water Conservation according to relevant
provisions in Management on Qualification of
Scheme Planning for Soil and Water
Conservation (Trial).
This re-declaration and renewal of
qualification certificate was strictly
executed as per the new provisions. There
are nationwide 110 Grade A certified units
accepted this renewal review, of which, 103
unit granted Grade A Certificate, five unit
are degraded, and two units are
disqualified.
